Bears on the Roadside

Yesterday I was stopped by a local council worker, she was warning me of a mother bear with an injured leg 4 km ahead with a cub. It was sitting by the road, refusing to move and trying to attack anything that came to close.
Of course I was terrified and was kind of insisting on a lift past the bear but she was going back into town to get the MNR to have it put down. She told me to cycle very fast past that point on the opposite side of the road and mentioned how the incline was really bad so it may be hard😡. Then went onto tell me how there was a bear in her back garden this morning, needless to say I took on the next 4-5km absolutely terrified with the bear spray and knife in hand. Typical chill Canadians and their approach carrying into every aspect of life. Thankfully I didn’t run into the bear as I think death was a certainty 😂
